David,
Deathless body stands for the knowledge of Oneness. This is to give us the ability to live detached from our own physical body. This physical (Biological) body dies (disintegrates) one day whereas we live forever. The physical Bodies of great Saints like Vallalar are not anymore with us but they all live forever guiding us. They have no desires. They never claim for any credit. A person with no desire lives in deathless body forever.

Vallalar Physical body becomes light and many places Vallalar himself sung in ThiruArutpa. HIS physical body did not disintegrate. HIS body becomes light and merged like light to light. So HIS body is a luminous body. Below is one of the song proof and like that you can find in other songs.

For what I know, if we died physically , there is not such thing as englightenment, not to say escape from re-birth.
Thats why Vallalar's website is talking about deathless body.
With this deathless body, your soul will be able to detach from it and be free of rebirth.
Everyone can says they are spiritul or have followed Vallalar's principle strictly. But they still died. When people died, they will be painful, shortness of breath, hand, leg and body become cold. Brain hallucinate etc etc.
How can a dying person happily declare himself free of rebirth and enlightened?
I strongly believe in the deathless body and nothing else.
Without deathless body, there is not way to escape from rebirth.

David,
Death is not painful and fearful to any saint. This is painful and fearful only to those who live for their own body. Saints who die physically never get re-birth. Yes, Vallalar’s website is the only website which is talking about deathless body.
Anything in this world including our own body is made out of five elements. Those file elements are earth - 5th element, water- 4th element, heat(light) – 3rd element, air – 2nd element and empty space(sky) - 1st element. Our Vallalar for some unknown reason has believed that His body got completely transformed into the 3rd element – light.
I didn’t know anyone achieved like our Vallalar, including His own disciples. Our Vallalar’s disciples have to work hard to find it out in order to make our Vallalar’s achievement made available to rest of the world. I am sure none knew including those who were living while our Vallalar was living in His physical body. Our Vallalar Himself stated in His “Perubadasam” that He told the truth but there was none to see the truth.
Yours,
K. Ganesan

Actually, I have been reading about Chinese Taoist for the pass few years. They spoke about immortality and physical deathless body.
When the Taoist achieved this deathless body, they were able to escape from rebirth. This deathless body also enable them to perform miracles like turning stones into gold, Physically appearing in various places at the same time, floating from the ground to heaven, indestructable.
Can go into water or fire with no harm, etc etc.
The sad part is they leave behind only their books that describe the deathless body like what Vallalar did. They have described somes steps, but is very difficult to achieve. Those steps includes vegetarian and meditation.
They too disappear into thin air like Vallalar.
Why did they all disappear and never come back?
Don't they have the physical deathless body?
Why must talk to us in our dreams?
Won't it be better that Vallalar come back once a year during the festival when everyone is offering their prayer to him(Vallalar)?
Rather than looking only to an empty room and feeling spiritual about seeing the room. Or feeling happy seeing Vallalar's sandals, photo etc.

Does anybody know about vaishnava philosophy? It teaches from the Gita, god can be impersonal, formless light, brahmajoyti, god can be the paramatma (supersoul) and God can be Bhagavan, Krishna (sat, chit, ananda vigraha). So, the Veda teaches, as you think, so you become. Vallar thought on light only and became light and eventually formless light. In vaishnava philosophy that is considered spiritual suicide. Devotees want to have eternal pasttimes lila with Krishna and have spiritual body in spiritual world, not to dissolve into light and annihilation
Does anybody have any comments on this?

Dear Kara,
Vallalar found god in his natural form ,is in form of light( as explained by the mahamantra ). Vallalar did not simply aimed on light alone , for if he had aimed on light alone there wont be any devotion, grace in it. Its not a mere physical light which we can imagine and consider. All the Siddhars found that jyothi(light) in them.
As you said we should not merely focus on light , we should have the dance with krishna, vallalar had written that he became one with god ,having the dance with god, and that god comes and marries him. They had the divine dance.
Vallalar sys that those who dont have faith and belief in god, their tongue is a rubbish and decayed one.
The Dance of light is the 'NATARAJA'. Even in vedas this is said,
Sri Periyaval( Sankaracharya, the before one) has said that the light in us has brightness of thousand crore suns, but still its nature is cold, its the Ambigai. This is to be found in the very indepth understanding of the vedas, which our Sri Periyaval has understood and said for us.
This every great jnanis found in themselves and explained. Vallalar went to the far extreme and become one with the jyothi(Light- The Vast Grace of Light).
Hope,i can explain some thing what you have asked for.

Dear Brothers,
First pls. understand the basic principle,
God is One. It is ArutPerumJothi
There is no other God. This forum is not the place to talk about small gods.
And also Our Saint Vallalar is uncomparable with any other Saints.
Dont try to do that. It is by default a failure.
Dont give such dummy names whom my Guru calls as KADINA SIDDHAR.
Whoever you mention they did only Tapas, but they didn't show Compassion as my Guru did.
As my Guru said, Compare his Poems to the others, that will give you the answer.
Compassion,
senthil

There must be many who could have been granted deathlessbody. There is no need for them to reveal that boon. Neither do they desire for any publicity. They donot unless permitted by God. Vallalar was different. He was the CHOSEN ONE. He was sent here for the very purpose of revealing the path.

there are many siddars who talk about kaya kalpam deathless body
there are many books in tamil for this
but when you want deathless body
you have to eat specific food only
you have to meditate most of the day
also thirumanthiram by tirumular says the trick how to become god
you have to be in samathi for seven years when you get all powers of god you can create destroy and protect and do anything and then you can keep you body for ever
kaka pusundar also has written many books in tamil how to keep the body intact
but after getting power of god one can change body at will create new bodies
but some people get tired sitting within the body for ever
so dissolve the soul with out any rebirth is ultimate goal
vallalar attained the great power due to preceding lifes in different bodies
look at maharishis biography by some non indian author
while travelling on foot in the tiruvanamalai hills he comes to a place where he can not enter. he concludes some great saint is meditating with his immortal body and does not enter this place
anyone who attains immortal body does not go out publicly telling it

Deathless body was not the goal of Vallalar. He prayed for the welfare of all beings and appealed for powers to remove the sufferings of all. He was granted the powers and the body that would support all these compassionate activities. It is not merely deathless body but much beyond that. It is a body of Grace. It is granted by the God Such a body may not be obtained if the practitioner aims for it. Spiritual powers at higher levels are made available to attainers only when they go beyond likes and dislikes. Vallalar got it because he and compassion were one and not two. Most of the Songs of Divine Grace reveal this.

So far your people discussed and quoted stanzas from different scripts, but it explains only what we read. The experience only will clear the doubts that weather a person can attain vallar's stage or not. This experience can only be obtained by grace not by meditation.First we should understand the jothi experience is obtained only at 18th stage that Gnana thil Yogam(Gnana bakti, karmam,
yoga
).To attain this satage even previous siddhas also ried and got it.In this stage one can view jothi from eye brow to centre head(ie gnana sabai),but no body can reach there.
Now to go there man can take only 64 mind atoms(Tayumanavar) and it is tough one because so many people died in this stage. This place only vallar comes .He also see the light and he did not tried to go to centre head.Instead he enjoy the light and started jeevakaranuam by helping and guiding the people. So that jothi started to reveal sanmarga experience and guided him what to follow in this world. In this period only he constructed Sathya dharma salai. In betwen he got many experienc that you can see in Thiru Arutpa(Six th Thirumurai).Suddenly he is getting higher experience that so far no body got it.That is he saw two big hills with red and white ,jothi stampam, por kovil, finally natraj. There he got power to guide the universe to bring universal brotherhood by atma not by mind or body or simply all are one by following one god.For further discussion you please contact

Dear Bro's,
Vallalar's concept is very simple but achieving it is not easy. Vallalar simply says that a soul cannot live without a physical body. It needs a physical body to continue its journey towards Deathlessness. Further, Vallalar says that body msut not be left behind for neither cremation nor burial. As far as I am concerned and what I have studied, Vallalar is still living in his own body. When Vallalar describes the Nyana Udambu, He says that such a person can appear and disappear at his will. His disciple Velayuda Mudaliar has given similar statement to the Theosophical Society in Adyar which says something like this:
Quote
Our gurunathar often disappears. During his disappearance, we do not is where abouts and what he is doing ...
Unquote
This confirms that Vallalar has been practising this before his final disappearance on 30-Jan-1874. Further some of his songs confirm this:
POTHIYA MALA PINI PULU KURUMBAITHAN
SITTHIYAL SANMARKA SERPINAL
NITHIYAM AAGI NIGALUM ENDRU ...
KAATRALE PUVIYALE KAGANAMATHANLEY ...
........................................
ENNYANDRUM ALIYATHA MEIYALIKKA VEHNDUM ENDREN
VIRAINTHALITAAN ENAKKEY.....
MANNUKINDRE PON VADIVUM (1), MANTHIRAMAAM VADIVUM(2), VAAN VADIVUM (3) KODUTHU ...
MANSEITHU KONDA SANMARKATHIL INGE VAAN SEITHU KONDATHAI NAAN SEITU KONDEN ..
and many more. Further the word VAALKAI (LIVE) is only correct to be used for those who have conquered death. I quote another song of Vallalar:
VAIYAGATHIR, VANAGATHIR, MATRAGATHIR, ULAGIR UMATHU
VAALKAIYELLAM VALKAI ENA MATHITHU MAYANGATHIR
MAIYAGATHEY URUM MARANAVATHANAIYAI THAVIRTHA VALKAIYATHE VAALKAIYENAY MATHITHU ....
Therefore, Art of Deathlessness is converting our physical body to 3 stages leading to Nyana Udambu as described by Vallalar's song above. Further we can conclude that Vallalar has transformed his physical body to Nyana body and still lives in that body and he can appear and disappear at his own will. Hopefully Vallalar will appear upon us one of these days.
Hope what i have given is relevant to this subject.
